  1. Amazing kit! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th May 2017

I drive a 2008 E60 535I and having recently passed the 120K mile mark, my suspension was starting to give out. I had large amounts of body roll in corners as well a very far suspension travel. I wasn’t fully aware of the issue at hand until I purchased style 166 M5 wheels that where 19” vs. 18” wheels, I started to have very serious rubbing issues. After this I looked into some coilover kits to solve this issue, and ran across the Solowerks S1 coilover for the E60 (non m5). I decided to give them a try with a cheaper price point than most other kits out there. Their customer service and responses were well beyond amazing and it was with great ease that I was able to deal with them. I ordered the set and they arrived shortly after ( 3-4 days ). One of the firs things I noticed was the build quality. From the get go they looked in very good shape and seemed to be made very well. After installing them, there was a world of difference, 100x better than my OEM. Since then I have driven a little over 1500 miles on them and I could not be more pleased. The first drive home they felt good, but after 50-60 miles they began to change and become much, much better. While being a set of coilovers, I was slighty worried that they may be a little stiff ( living in Houston with very bad roads might be a bit of a pain with an absurdly stiff setup ) however I was pleasantly surprised. They S1 kit delivers the perfect balance between being stiff and being comfy. The road is easily felt through the car, yet cruising is such a breeze. The car feels much more stable and flat around corners as well as reducing squat and nosedive. Something the shop noticed while installing this Kit was the large variance of height adjustment. Currently I am running at nearly the highest height possible but the car can easily lower a couple more inches. Even at that height, the car has a much more aggressive look and as is, looks low but not slammed. Overall this S1 kit from Solowerks really delivered everything I was looking for. They are comfy while still being stiff enough to feel sportier than stock, they give a very aggressive look to the car, the build quality has been perfect over the 1500 miles, and they are extremely affordable for coilover kits. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone looking for a cheap but reliable way to improve their ride quality and suspension on their E60 5 series.

  2. 08 E60 535i 5 Star Review

Posted by on 22nd Apr 2017

My sport suspension on my 2008 BMW 535i needed to be changed it was worn out . After driving my friends E60 550i with KSport coilovers and my friends E60 535i with Bilstein coilovers i was unsatisfied with the comfort and handling . I decided to go with Solowerks after speaking with Matt regarding the spring rates and damper curve , which i can confirm are a perfect balance for a daily driven E60 .

    Height :
The car sits perfect on 18s and 19s . The coilovers are adjustable so you can easily tuck the wheel with the right offset and wheel size or make it sit flush with the right MM spacer.

I have driven a total of 1062 miles on the Solowerks and i fall in love everytime i drive the car ! The car feels much more firm and absorbs the imperfections on the roads without ruining the ride quality.

The package arrived quick and installation went smooth. The instructions are E60 specific and included all the information on the parts needed to be replaced and everything was clear .

    Customer service :
The best way to contact them is via email. I received quick replies and Matt answered all of my questions thoroughly.

Overall i'm happy with the purchase so is my friend that bought solowerks for his 5 series .

  3. E60 solowerks experience 5 Star Review

Posted by on 15th Jun 2015

First look at the coilovers when unboxing them I was very impressed they look very good and the information included for them is in great detail on how to install them.

Installation was very straight forward, basically went back in same as stock with the swapping over of the stock upper mounts.

I didn't change anything as far as ride height prior to install to see where about they would be, surprisingly they were close to each other front to back just minor changes up front to level out the ride height.

As far as final fitment and ride everything was great, did not need spacers for my stock 530i wheels, the ride is definitely better than my old suspension but didn't rattle my teeth out either. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality product that can't afford or doesn't want to spend 1000+ for a street car on coilovers.
